Why we built it

Financial education often starts with definitions. Real life starts with choices: what to spend, how much to save, what risk means and whether an investment makes sense. We wanted Finance Flow to let students practise those choices instead of simply reading about them.

We built the concept during Econverse, a national startup competition for high-school students. Our challenge came from a finance or technology partner, and we had 36 hours to turn it into a product idea, prototype and pitch.

What made the prototype

We could not cover all of personal finance in one weekend, so we chose one clear path through the app: short lessons, practical decisions and progress the user could see. That was enough to show how learning would feel without pretending the prototype was a finished product.

The hard part was deciding what to leave out. Every screen had to help the jury understand the learning experience or make the pitch easier to follow. Anything else could wait.

The result

Finance Flow reached the Econverse grand final at the European Financial Congress. We finished third and received PLN 2,000.

The sprint made me more interested in early product work. I liked finding the core problem, choosing a small but convincing scope and explaining the product under a tight deadline.
