Team 404 built a dispatcher for drone operations involving several agencies. It won the Dual-Use track at SpaceShield Hack 2026.

The problem

When several agencies fly drones over the same area, routes can cross and operators may not see one another’s plans. They also need to account for restricted zones. We decided to solve the coordination problem instead of focusing on how to control a single drone.

SkyMarshal C2 gives operators one map for active missions. Our prototype used live orthophotomaps of Stalowa Wola, planned routes around restricted zones and warned about possible airspace conflicts.

What we built

We kept the interface centred on the map. An operator could check missions, routes and conflicts without digging through several administrative screens. We used React 19 and Vite for the app, with React-Leaflet for the map.

A working map was only part of the job. Our demo also had to show why shared routing matters and how several agencies could use the dispatcher during the same operation.

The result

More than 200 people competed across four tracks at SpaceShield Hack 2026. SkyMarshal C2 won the Dual-Use category. We received PLN 10,000 and PLN 20,000 in CloudFerro cloud credits.

This project showed me how much a hackathon depends on scope. We won by building enough to explain the full system clearly, not by adding the longest list of features.
